Jet Away To These Oscar Worthy Destinations

With the Oscars taking place this weekend, we have taken a look at some of the movies up for a golden man trophy award to see which ones inspire the most oscar worthy destinations.

Inspiration for vacation and visiting new destinations can come from a variety of places, but some of the most influential travel motives comes from the Oscar’s academy awards films.

The Revenant

Alberta, Canada and Tierra del Fuego in Chile and Argentina.

This much-talked about film is getting a lot of attention as many people wonder if Leonardo DiCaprio will finally claim the academy award for best actor. But its breath-taking scenery has also become a major talking point, which creates a realistic, wintry remote paradise (minus the bears).

While the movie is set in South Dakota, it was actually filmed in Alberta, Canada and Tierra del Fuego in Chile and Argentina (South America).

The Danish Girl

France, England, and Germany

This heartfelt drama about Lili Elbe, the first person in history to undergo sexual reassignment surgery, was shot in some of the most beautiful places in Europe, including France, England and Germany.

But it is the film’s depiction of 20th century Copenhagen which includes colorful buildings and cobblestone streets. This film has many itching to jet off to the stunning country of Denmark.

Brooklyn

Ireland, New York

Ironically, most of Brooklyn is set in Ireland, spurring wanderlust on both sides of the Atlantic ocean.

This academy Golden Globe award nominated film depicts the struggle of an Irish immigrant to find her place in Brooklyn, New York.

Learjet Lear 45XR - Private Light Jet Charter

The medium-range Learjet Lear 45XR, replacing the 35, is one of the rare jets to seamlessly integrate new technology with a tested and successful older design. Its speed and economy are to be expected – being a Learjet – but its remaining features combine to create a high-quality private jet and the Learjet Lear 45XR even more so.

The aircraft can fly 2,301 miles (1,999 nautical miles) nonstop, and it can cruise at 437 knots. Two AlliedSignal TFE731-20BR turbofan engines provide 3,500 pounds of thrust each on takeoff.

The 45XR is certified almost identical to the safety standards required for Boeing 777s.

Learjet Lear 45XR Interior

The 45XR’s cabin holds eight seats with plenty of room to swivel, recline, and track.

The interior of the Learjet Lear 45XR was designed to offer the most usable passenger space possible so that the passengers do not feel claustrophobic. When combined, small increases in legroom, seat width and galley storage make a difference.

Other fine points of the cabin’s design make it functional and comfortable, from work tables that fold down from the walls to an extra pressure relief port on the door for added passenger safety.

The noise level in the cabin never exceeds 72 dB, and a two-zone temperature control system ensures that both the cabin and the cockpit are kept comfortable.

An external compartment provides 50 cubic feet of heated baggage space, and there is an additional 15 cubic feet in the interior.

Learjet Lear 45XR Specifications

  • Passenger Capacity: 8
  • Airspeed: 437 knots
  • Range: 2301 miles
  • Cabin Width: 5.1 feet
  • Cabin Height: 4.9 feet
  • Cabin Length: 19.8 feet

Learjet Lear 45 - Private Light Jet Charter

The Learjet Lear 45 Light Jet is narrow compared to other light jets.

The aircraft can seat seven passengers although we would not recommend ever putting seven adults in this aircraft. The Learjet Lear 45 is comfortable with five passengers.

A single point pressure refueling system (SPPR), located under the right engine pylon, is a welcome addition to an airplane in this category; the entire 904-gallon fuel system can be filled in about 10 minutes, expediting quick turnarounds.

The fueling panel and associated valves are powered by the emergency battery bus, thus obviating the need for the aircraft system to be powered when filling the tanks. That’s a nice feature.

Another great addition to this aircraft is the Honeywell APU, located above the baggage compartment. When operating in the boonies, where conditioned air and electrical power carts are often scarce, an APU makes you more self-sufficient. It is approved for use only on the ground, burns just 150 pounds of fuel per hour, provides electrical and pneumatic power, and can easily precool or preheat the 410-cubic-foot cabin before passenger arrival.

That’s a big deal for corporate pilots dedicated to passenger comfort.

The Learjet Lear 45 does have a good range. It is perfect for private jet charter flights from Teterboro, NY to West Palm Beach, FL.

Learjet Lear 45 Interior

The Learjet Lear 45 cabin holds seven seats (usually in a double club layout) with plenty of room to swivel, recline, and track.

The cabin’s length and width are 19.8 feet and 5.1 feet, respectively. Don’t be misled by these measurements; the interior of the Learjet 45 was designed to offer the most usable passenger space possible so that the passengers do not feel claustrophobic.

An external compartment provides 50 cubic feet of baggage space with an additional 15 cubic feet of storage in the interior.

Learjet Lear 45 Specifications

  • Passenger Capacity: 4-7
  • Airspeed (mph): 420
  • Range: 1700
  • Cabin Width: 4.8
  • Cabin Height: 4.9
  • Cabin Length: 17.4

Presidential Candidates Private Jet Aircraft

While running for candidacy, US presidential candidates need to be flexible to visit several cities in the same day, while also making stops at destinations far from major commercial airports. This is why many candidates choose to charter aircraft, as private jet charter allows the flexibility, freedom and time-saving aspects the candidates crave.

In the early stages of the campaign, candidates use private planes sporadically, starting with small Lear jets before hiring larger ones as they raise more money. Here’s a look at some presidential candidates private jet aircraft, as well as a look at what they’ll be flying if they win this year’s election:

Donald Trump Private Jet Aircraft

Also known as “Trump Force One”, Donald Trump’s own private aircraft is almost as well-known as he is. The Boeing 757-200, powered by Rolls Royce engines, has been re-outfitted to be as extravagant as its owner. Seating just 43 people, the aircraft has many amenities such as a movie theatre, dining area, 24-carat gold seatbelts, and bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.

While Trump owns his aircraft, to charter a Boeing 757 would cost you around $14,500 per hour to fly. In addition to Trump Force One, Trump also owns a Citation X and three helicopters.

Hillary Clinton Private Jet Aircraft

While Hillary Clinton doesn’t own a private jet like Trump, she has been a regular user of business aviation since the early 1990s. As Secretary of State, Clinton travelled over an impressive 950,000 miles and to over 98 countries – the most of any Secretary of State at the time.

During her recent campaign, Clinton has been known to fly on commercial flights, but has been hopping on private jets to keep up with a busy schedule. Clinton was recently seen boarding a Dassault Falcon 900, which can seat up to 13 people and costs about $7000 per hour to fly.

Marco Rubio Private Jet Aircraft

While Marco Rubio has been flying commercial during the beginning of the campaign, like other candidates, he’s switched to chartering private jets in order to keep up with tight schedules and events in multiple locations.

The Republican candidate seems to prefer flying by a Cessna Citation XL, the world’s best-selling private jet.

A Citation XL seats up to 8 people costs around $4000 per hour to fly.

Bernie Sanders Private Jet Aircraft

Bernie Sanders has become infamous for flying coach on commercial flights, with many of his fellow passengers sharing photos of him on their planes. However, just like other candidates, as schedules get tighter and he has more events to attend, Sanders has also chartered a jet or two.

Over the holiday season, Sanders used a Gulfstream G200 to fly from Burlington, Vermont as well as Las Vegas to Moline, Illinois. A G200 sits up to 8 people and costs around $6500 per hour to fly.

Air Force One

If any of these candidates are successful and win the Presidential election in November, they’ll be trading their charters to the most famous BBJ in the world: Air Force One.

Air Force One (which isn’t just a single plane, but actually a radio call sign), is a Boeing 747-200 that has 4000 square feet of space on three levels. The inside includes an office, a conference room, bedroom and medical suite.

Presidential Private Jet Aircraft Air Force One

President Obama has recently approved a new-and-improved Air Force One, which is intended to be a Boeing 747-800. Once modified, the aircraft will be capable of mid-air refueling, hardened against the electromagnetic pulse of a nuclear explosion, and is also rumored to be equipped with defences to deflect heat-seeking missiles.
